Meditation for Grounding

This meditation goes well with a twisting or forward fold practice on this website.  You will explore the breath with a technique called ujjayi.  Here, ujjayi is expressed in a more subtle way then it might be during an asana practice.  Explore a gentle restriction in the back of the throat and a refined breath that doesn’t go to deep.  Eventually, in this meditation, you will move towards altering the ratio of the inhales and exhales.  The use of ujjayi will create a soothing quality in your meditation and will integrate you more deeply with the body and mind.  Please feel free to email me if you have any questions:  joe@yoga-joe.com

Running Time: 13 minutes

(Note: This meditation is done with eyes closed in a comfortable seat.  If you are still new to meditation, please use a wall to support a tall spine or sit on enough blankets to allow the knees to be lower then your hips.)
