Reduce Your Stress Today
Stress is Increasing Everywhere in America
The American Psychological Association's recent 2007 survey found that money and work are the biggest stressors for almost three quarters of Americans. We are all working hard to get ahead or maybe just to keep pace with everyone. We work so hard in our lives that we forget about our health and happiness. Stress becomes just another aspect of our life that we accept. Before we know it, we are dealing with lower back pain or extreme neck and shoulder tension resulting from the demands of raising a family and a 12 hour-a-day job. This stress has serious consequence to your health and will eventually affect your happiness.
So now it's time to make a change...
With private, one-on-one yoga sessions in Manhattan or Westchester, you will reduce your level of stress, which will help you lose weight, increase flexibility and reduce your risk of injury.
Yoga is for Everyone
Yoga should be and can be accessible to EVERYONE. Yes, we all have been scared off by all those fancy, twisty poses, but the road to health and happiness doesn't require you to be an advanced yoga practitioner. There are a variety of tools and approaches that produce results you can see and feel in your daily life.
Susan's Story
I'm a 65 year old woman who leads a fairly active life in New York
City but is often stifled by a stressful job. I knew I needed something
calming in my life. I have thought about yoga for many years and even
attended a few "beginner" classes only to find that there were many
intermediate and advanced students in the mix which turned me off to
the experience. I really wanted someone to focus on me and take the time
to explain what I was supposed to be doing. So I took the plunge and
decided to make a commitment to do 10 private yoga sessions with
YogaJoe.
Having YogaJoe come to my apartment to teach yoga to me proved to be
the best possible choice I could have made. I knew that he was focused
on me. I was never embarrassed by my lack of knowledge about the
practice of yoga. Joe was patient as I blundered through the basic poses
and was always reassuring about my progress, which encouraged me to
move on.
After 10 yoga sessions with YogaJoe, I feel, that I have the confidence
to attend a yoga class and hope to be able to integrate yoga into my
daily life because I believe doing so will make me feel better both
physically and emotionally.
Don't Take My Word For It
I am returning to a yoga practice after a 5 year absence and wanted a gentle way to re-introduce my body to the practice. The first time I took Joe's class, I felt completely taken care of. His soothing voice and nurturing energy made me feel safe and comfortable. I then decided to take some private training with Joe to get myself back into shape. In three sessions, he has changed my relationship with my body. Joe explains postures clearly and simply, and breaks them down so that I'm able to put the pieces together, like a jigsaw puzzle. I find that my practice has gotten smoother, easier and more fun. And the body awareness is changing the way I move through space, how I work out at the gym, how I stand at work. I've never had such a profound experience of my yoga practice influencing my daily life. I'm very grateful that I found Joe, and I look forward to continuing this journey with his support.
So I'm on the plane to Reno, reading Eat, Pray, Love (since everyone tells me that's what I should read while on a plane). I'm deep into the second third of the book when I read this quote: "You come to your Guru, then, not only to receive lessons, as from any teacher, but to actually receive the Guru's state of grace." I thought of you!
I was never interested in yoga until I met you. I realized from this quote why I really come to yoga class week after week. It's not for flexibility or physical strength. There are faster routes to those goals. I get something more out of class. I feel calmed and strengthened spiritually. I feel your grace. I just want to say "thank you" for sharing it with me!
I really enjoyed your class - the detailed and clear explanation of the poses, and the amount and fluidity of intellectual and spiritual information, make it clearly superior to the other ones I've been exposed to.
I am looking forward to the next one; after all, there aren't many classes that one hears Marcel Proust being cited, and I wouldn't want to miss that!
Joe's teaching makes class such a full experience. Every session is a new discovery physically and spiritually, and everyone he teaches is so blessed to be touched by such a beautiful soul. His teaching has become a huge part of my learning to live in each moment without judgement.
Joe is the most attentive yoga teacher I've had yet! His confidence in teaching, knowledge of the practice of yoga, and openness immediately put me at ease. I felt like he was truly interested in my well-being. I would definitely recommend Joe to any of my friends!
From the moment YogaJoe welcomes you, you know you are in safe hands. The meditative qualities of his voice sooth from the outset, and he gently introduces positions and knowledge throughout the session. It is clear that he embraces all that yoga entails; physical, biological, spiritual. You will stretch and sweat; but it will be a peaceful and supportive sweat (grin).
This session helped me to forgive my limitation and at the same time, trust myself to grow and press deeper and further than I thought I could. Joe is extremely encouraging, soothing, challenging and has a wealth of knowledge to offer. I wish I could take a session with him everyday!
The yoga session I just had with Joe was one of the most intensely wonderful experiences I’ve ever had. I came into the session with an open mind and heart, and I knew my body was tight in places, holding onto all sorts of stuff from the past. Joe’s session brought me in touch with my body, mind and spirit. It was a brilliant test of will and a joyous expansion of self. Really beautiful.
Thank you Joe.
