Client Testimonials

"I've been dancing since I was three, and because of scoliosis. I can never get my body to move the way I want it to, and I usually end up getting frustrated and giving up. Then I met Joe. His class teaches me something new each time, and he creates a loving and safe environment that encourages me to relax, be patient, and allow myself to learn and grow. I usually find that my yoga practice imitates my life, and Joe seems to sense what I need to grow further in both: Either to accept my limitations, or to push through the imaginary ones I think are there. He never pushes too hard, but he is always in tune to what I need. He brings the perfect amount of spirituality into the practice, and I leave relaxed in mind, stretched in body, and focused in spirit. He is truly a healer and a giver."

I've not had much success sticking with yoga in the past. The physical challenges were always overwhelming and frustrating. Joe, however, changed that immediately for me. First, he is a regular, cool guy; he does not carry that "too peaceful for this planet" vibe that puts me off from other instructors. Practice with Joe does not ever seem like a "session"; he creates a seamless transition from my day into the practice, and vise versa. I particularly enjoy the 5-10 minutes of thoughts he shares before the actual practice begins. It immediately awakens focus and awareness. And for a beginner, the yoga flow is very accessible, and not overly encumbered by the vernacular which can be confusing and disruptive to someone just starting out.

Thanks Joe!

"When I first started practicing yoga, I would muscle through the poses. I was all about strength & getting a "work-out". Then, I started practicing with Joe. He introduced me to the truth of yoga. He showed me that yoga is about acceptance and letting go and tuning in. That ego has no place on the mat. Through my practice with Joe, I have come to learn that it is a way of life, a way to breath, a way to be quite with ones self, a way to absorb what we want from our surroundings and a way to push away what we don't want. Joe has become not only my teacher on the mat, but he has become an incredibly strong influence in the way I approach my life."

"Honestly, for me, Yoga is one of those things I dread but know that I need to do. Sort of like cleaning my closet, folding laundry, and taking my concentrated fish oil (yuk!!!). That was BEFORE I met YogaJOE. I have been dragged to countless classes by my loving friends where I look at my watch like an inpatient child who repeatedly wants to ask "are we there yet??" I make it through the class but leave uninspired.

Well one day, these friends said "you would love YogaJoe, he is amazing, this is what you need, just trust us." They were right. Within the first few minutes of class I released my self-deprecating thoughts regarding my flexibility and expedient nature and acquiesced to his soothing voice and requests to accept wherever I was in my practice and my life. I felt so refreshed and inspired".

I LOVED your yoga class. As a retired teacher, I was very impressed with your teaching techniques. You did an awesome job making sure everyone felt noticed and got to those who needed your help. The fact that your voice is hypnotic and soothing is also an important attribute that makes you an exceptional teacher. Congratulations my good friend.

I am fairly new to yoga and have tried many different yoga classes and teachers. While some classes may be good, I feel the teachers are just taking the class through the motions of the poses. Joe goes much deeper than that. He really teaches you to go inside of yourself to have the deepest experience possible on your mat both spiritually and physically. I always come out of his classes with a deeper understanding of myself and life while feeling relaxed and invigorated at the same time. Listening to his inspirational words and being in Joe's presence is a wise investment in your time. I have not found another teacher that compares!!!!

I've been a yoga fan for almost 10 years and I'm very selective in who I practice with. Joe teaches a vinyasa class at the Saw Mill Club in Westchester at 6:30 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Getting people to arrive at a gym at 6:30am in the morning is a tough task!! Yet this class is attended consistently and has become one of the most popular time slots. Joe teaches a balanced class with a genuine level of spiritual and positive thought that makes the hour feel like it is a personalized "feel good" class while being physically challenged to strengthen and stretch our bodies. In a gym environment there are many levels of practitioners with different expectations and with Joe's clear concise instruction everyone in the room feels like the class is catered to their needs. It is a complete mind, body and soul workout and it's also a tribute to his love for the yogic philosophy. Thank you for making it special!
